Extreme Gardening Challenge 2006

Before
Before we began on the challenge the garden looked like this. The garden was generally overgrown, with the trees to the left taking over the path, the shed at the back was falling down and the weeds in the middle were making the view from the kitchen not nice.

Then the heavy crew moved in - our warmest thanks go to...

  • Bob 'the builder' and Sue 'skip filler' Burden
  • Ron 'chipper' and Katie 'pyro' Hales
  • Craige 'de-construction' Burden
  • Matt 'hit it with a pick axe' Woodman

After
And this is the view 24 hours later.

The trees have been cut back and the path cleared (the washing line had to go too!)
The shed has come down
And all the plant matter in between has be pulled up

And the waste? Well thanks to a little thing called a chipper, most of the plant waste ended up in one huge yellow bag; the rest was burnt, along with most of the shed; with the exception of a total of 26 rubble bags of asbestos, which went to the tip.
