I was originally under the impression that I would be let out for good behaviour on 6/11, but when the pediatrician came to see mum they thought that we should stay at the hospital for another day, they didn't seem to explain to my mum why we had to stay in the hospital.
Mum was quite upset as she was looking forward to getting home and showing me around my new room and putting me in my new bed. Dad came to see us a little after lunch time, he said that he had been driving around the carpark at the hospital for over an hour. When dad arrived he asked if mum had packed all of her things and was ready to come home, mum explained that the doctors thought she should stay another day. Dad disappeared for a while, when he came back he explained that the doctor had thought that mum might want some more time with the support of the hospital staff, dad had politely explained that he felt that mum and I should come home and that there were enough freinds and family who would be able to help if mum felt I was too much.
The pediatrician came again to explain that I could go home if I wanted, then the midwife came to explain that mum was under obstetric care because of the complications and it would take some time to get an obstetrician to complete the paperwork. Much later an obstetrician arrived felt mum's tummy and asked her some questions, they decided that mum could go home. The midwife came back a little later and asked mum even more questions eventually we were told we could go home. It was cold and dark outside, which was quite a surprise as I had only know the warmth of the maternity ward.
Dad put me in his car in a car seat that aunty Amy had lent to him, and he drove me home ever so carefully. When I got home there was a sign on the door saying "Welcome Home Oliver and Mum", this was really nice. Mum got me changed out of my special coming home outfit that dad had bought for me, I think he is expecting me to grow quite a lot as the outfit was a bit big.
Mum fed me on formula and I went to bed in my new room, halfway through the night I decided that I didn't really like my new room so I thought I would ask mum to move my new bed, after all the could wheel the cot in the hosptial around really easily. I don't think it was as easy to move my new bed as both mum and dad had to turn all the lights on in the house and they kept on saying "up a bit", "now to the left", "no, the other left". Finally mum and dad moved my bed and I went to sleep in there room, it was nice to listen to them both and it helped me get to sleep.
